Arundhati Nittur Receives a 2026-2027 Helping Hands Grants Program Award from the American Psychiatric Association Foundation

Join us in congratulating Aru Nittur’s success in receiving a 2026-2027 Helping Hands Grants Program award of $1,000 from the American Psychiatric Association Foundation (APAF). Her winning application on behalf of Drexel University College of Medicine addresses mental health disparities among individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use in Philadelphia. By embedding standardized screenings (PHQ-9, GAD-7) into existing programming at local harm reduction organization, student volunteers will identify individuals in need of care and connect them directly to psychiatric treatment at Tower Health Medical Group Psychiatry on Vine Street, along with ride-share support.
