In his role as Early Career Psychiatrist Representative for PaPS, Dr. Tessier is focusing on connections for ECP members. Read more to find out how you can connect and join the virtual conversation.
I am currently serving in the role of Early Career Psychiatrist (ECP) Representative for PaPS. I have worked to engage with ECP’s, those who have been out of residency or fellowship for 7 years or less, and will continue to do so through the end of my term in June. Please let us know if you are an ECP and haven’t received any emails from me yet, so that we can update your information in our member spreadsheet.
We’ve been having virtual discussions for ECP’s, where we’ve talked about what everyone wants from PaPS and how to get more involved. What’s become overwhelmingly clear is that most ECP’s primarily want 2 things: an active and supportive peer group and advocacy for the needs of us and our patients. Through these sessions we’ve been able to connect ECP’s with PaPS committees and their local chapters. For those interested in the extensive advocacy done by our Government Relations Committee, I encourage you to see their section of this newsletter.
I plan to continue hosting these conversations on varying days and times at least once a month through the end of my term. Our next discussion will be on April 16th from 4 to 4:45 pm. Here’s the link to join.
We’ve also created a WhatsApp group for informal communication among PaPS ECP’s, which you can request to join via this link. When you request to join, please send me a direct message with your first and last name so that I can confirm who you are before adding you to the group.
Please reach out if you would like to be more involved in PaPS or engaged with other ECP’s! I look forward to serving our members and society through the end of my current role and through other work going forward.
