An Update from the Executive Director – July 2026

Summer is in full swing and PaPS is not taking a vacation from supporting its members. Make sure you check the PaPS website often for updates and registration for in-person and virtual events.

Gearing up for the Keystone Psychiatric Forum (KPF), October 9-11, 2026, at the Kalahari Resorts & Conference Center in Pocono Manor, I want to first thank Dr. Mark Matta for his vision to bring this conference to life for PaPS and to the countless volunteer committee members working on all aspects of our first PaPS statewide conference. Kalahari was selected for its family-friend atmosphere, offering members a chance to bring the family, spend a beautiful fall weekend in the Poconos, and enjoy all Kalahari has to offer. Kalahari discounted overnight accommodation rate is $212/night for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday stays. All guests receive complimentary passes to the waterpark, free parking, and activities for all ages. Make sure you use the PaPS KPF dedicated registration link to take advantage of the special rates.

Through our partnership with CME Outfitters, PaPS has been approved to offer up to 10.5 CME/CE credit hours for the multi-day conference. This is a licensure renewal year and if you are short of credit hours, this is your chance to meet the required criteria, including 4.5 hours dedicated to patient safety and risk management to round out the 12 required hours in this category if you attended the 2025 Patient Safety & Risk Conference.

Industry Partners and pharmaceutical companies answered the call to support the conference which will offer expert speakers and topics, Innovation Theatres, a Women in Psychiatry Networking event, and a poster competition. With the support of these organizations, PaPS can provide value for our members at a reasonable registration fee. An Exhibit Hall will be open on Saturday, October 10th to meet with representatives on products and services.

Don’t forget to join us each month for the PaPS Webinar Series. Held the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, each session features a speaker and topic of relevance to all career levels. PaPS members attend for FREE and can claim up to 1.0 CME credit hours for each session (12.0 CME credits for the year!). Registration is required. Head over to the PaPS website and register today!

If you have not renewed your 2026 membership, fear not – you still can renew through August 31st with no interruption in services. Head over to APA’s membership renewal site and re-activate your membership today.

As always, reach out if you have concerns, ideas, thoughts, or questions.

Be well,
